From Fear to Gratitude

From Fear to Gratitude

When I first started creating my newest work I spent a lot of time being afraid. Afraid of what my collectors would think about my new work. Afraid of what my fellow artists would say. Afraid that the new work would not be accepted based on the fact that it is so completely different than my traditional work. It's no fun being afraid like that. It drains you, it makes you second guess, and it delays action. That fear sits like a big stone in the pit of your stomach that just won't go away.

I knew that I had to learn to trust my instincts, to understand that the real true failure would be to not move forward. With time and the love and support of my closest friends and family I was able to do that. (You know who you are...I love you!)

The day came when I had to take the bull by the horns and just get my new work out there. Not just post it on social media, but to actually put it up for sale on my website. After a complete rehaul of my website I was able to launch my very first abstract collection.

At noon on April 1st, 2023 that first collection went live. I made four sales that first day. I couldn't have been more thrilled! This is my livelihood, and getting paid for my creations is the ultimate compliment. But, believe it or not, that was not the best part of making those sales. The best part was that the people that purchased those paintings were long time collectors of my traditional work. I couldn't have been more grateful. Grateful that they trusted me. Grateful that they were continuing to support my journey. Grateful that the fear had shrunk to a tiny little pebble. Thank you to everyone out there that continues to support me, my work, my journey! I am forever grateful!
